Care for Residents

The generosity of our residents enriches every aspect of life at Moorings Park. From lifelong learning and benevolent care to inspiring spaces and meaningful experiences, their support enhances the programs, services, and opportunities that foster well-being, meaningful connections, and lives filled with purpose, dignity, and joy.

A vibrant community doesn’t happen by chance—it is shaped by the generosity of those who call it home. Through support for community enhancements, residents help create welcoming spaces, meaningful amenities, and lasting improvements that enrich daily life today while leaving a legacy for future generations.

Philanthropic support also allows these projects to move forward sooner than they otherwise could, giving residents the opportunity to experience the impact of their generosity firsthand and enjoy these enhancements alongside their neighbors.

Benevolent Care

Benevolent Care is a promise—a promise to care for residents who, through no fault of their own, outlive their financial resources and need assistance to remain at Moorings Park.[JC1.1] Supporting this program ensures dignity, security, and peace of mind—not only for residents, but also their families. It reflects our community’s enduring commitment to caring for one another through every stage of life.

Enriching Minds

Lifelong learning is an important part of living well. Educational programs and guest presentations inspire curiosity, encourage healthy living, and foster meaningful connections.

One recent example was a visit from Dr. Roger Landry, a nationally recognized leader in healthy longevity. In his presentation, Ten Tips for Successful Aging, he shared practical, research-backed strategies to strengthen physical health, support cognitive vitality, and build emotional resilience. His message was clear: longevity isn’t just about adding years to life—it’s about adding life to years.

Support from generous residents makes it possible to bring renowned experts and enriching educational opportunities to our communities, empowering residents to live with purpose, stay engaged, and thrive at every stage of life.

Friends Funds

A vibrant community is built on the interests, talents, and traditions that bring people together. Through the Friends Funds, residents can support the programs, spaces, and activities that have enriched their own lives while creating meaningful experiences for others.

Whether nurturing creativity through art, fostering fellowship in Bower Chapel and the Orchid House, or supporting hands-on learning in the Woodshop, these resident-supported funds help ensure that Moorings Park continues to thrive for current and future generations.

Friends of Bower Chapel & Friends of the Orchid House

These resident-supported funds help provide special projects, furnishings, supplies, and ongoing enhancements that ensure these cherished gathering spaces continue to serve our communities for years to come.

Friends of Art

Established in 2012, the fund supports painting, drawing, pottery, and other creative opportunities for residents across all Moorings Park campuses. It also provides supplies and training for Opening Minds through Art (OMA), a nationally recognized, evidence-based intergenerational art program that brings joy, purpose, and creative expression to people living with dementia.

Friends of the Woodshop

Located near the Clubhouse and open to residents of all Moorings Park Communities, the Woodshop is a place where craftsmanship, creativity, and friendships flourish. Established in 2013, this fund provides equipment, tools, supplies, and other resources that help keep the Woodshop a vibrant gathering place for residents.
